I'm Megan E.K. Rietzke, founder of 52 Colors of Polish.
As founder of a beauty and cosmetics brand, you'd think that I have years of industry experience. Instead, I have years of experience learning new things and a willingness to try anything once.
I spent over 8 years as a project manager in various industries: construction, manufacturing, distribution, and financial technology. I led projects small and large, projects with one or multiple instances, and projects involving one person up to 25 people. Each of these experiences taught me something about myself and about running a business. I knew I wanted to start something of my own and that it needed to be something I was deeply passionate about.
During the 2020 pandemic, I rekindled my love of nail polish and manicures. This led to a deep dive into the world of nail polish and the many indie brands that had entered the market. Still not finding polishes that spoke to my urban professional style, I decided this would be my something. So in 2023, I started 52 Colors of Polish.
